Dear Canadian Club Racers--

I just received this announcement from Scott Hughes, chair of Club Racing. I was able to convince CR to allow a variance for 2000 but not beyond. Not that this requirement is stricter than the rules in effect for CASC and FAQ.

A further appeal is possible but unlikely to succeed before the 2001 rules are finalized.

The Rules Committee has voted not to expand the exemption for Canadian racers from current fire system rules.

The current rule requiring 2 nozzle fire systems on all Modified cars running on racing slicks will be in effect for all competitors eff. 1/1/2001.

We sincerely believe this is in the best interest of safety for racers running under that configuration.
